So why should you use XBRL Cloud? The tools available on XBRL Cloud today can help you prove that you are building the best quality tools available. Notably,
-
Your Taxonomy and Instance must be technically valid:
-
Use XBRL Cloud to assert XBRL correctness. You can
prove that your documents are valid for the XBRL 2.1
Recommendation, FRTA, or even for EDGAR filings. XBRL
Cloud provides detailed reports to help you "debug"
your documents.
-
Assure your XBRL:
-
The syntax might be right, but does your XBRL report
actually portray the information you intended to
portray? Are all of the dimensions connected as
expected? Are the facts XBRL "valid" (but
meaningless) because you forgot to hook up hypercubes?
Are all of your "total" and "net" correct?
The formatted and colorized reports draw your eye quickly to semantic defects that are otherwise difficult to pick up.

XBRL Validation

Running XBRL Validation is actually as simple as
just selecting Reports & Views.

Reports & Views
|
|
The following reports are available:
- XBRL Validation
- A full XBRL validation report, various flavors include XBRLS and SEC-specific validation.
- Flat View
- A very easy to use representation of the taxonomy and (optionally) instance data. The view is driven primarily by the presentation and calculation networks. The Excel view is particularly easy to navigate. The report is "flat" because the dimensional information is flattened out (as opposed to looking like a pivot table).
- Dimensional Extracts
- There are several dimensional reports available. One of the most interesting is an Excel-based report from which you can instantly view the XBRL data in pivot tables.
- Concept List
- A simple grid listing all of the concepts and labels.
- Hypercube Trace
- This is an Excel report used primarily to "debug" complex dimensional validation issues.
For most reports, you can specify any language supported by the taxonomy.
